Back to school?

In order for me to pursue a Masters in Library science (or in my case, a masters in library science with a concentration in library technologies), I must first finish my bachelors. I have unbelievable fear about finishing my bachelors at this local university. I had many horrible experiences here and I literally, literally, literally, have nightmares about being in school almost every single night. I kid you not. I met with an admissions counselor on Friday who was not able to give me much information, but today I have an appointment with an academic adviser in the College that I am under. My meeting is in about an hour and I am really nervous. If I do get good news, that’s all well and good, but my student loans have gone to collections so, pray for a miracle for me (or find me a sugar daddy! LOL). =:(

A little more about me

Where I’m at in my quest to become a librarian:

I need to talk to various college counselor re. how close I am to achieving a Bachelor’s. I have 9 years of college under my belt but not much to show for it; an AA degree, an AS degree in Electronics, and much time at FGCU plagued with problems. I want nothing more than to take library classes NOW. (My hope/plan is to do that online via FSU’s Master’s program.) I am SO motivated and SO inspired you have no idea! I am also a “new & improved” Lauren who is now healed after a divorce and I’m rarin’ to go! But I have to get the logistics and financial aspects worked out first. Send prayers and positive vibes my way! I’m going to this somehow, some way! :)

Welcome

My name is Lauren and I am a Librarian in the making.  I’m a 40-ish girl going through a lot of life changes right now, one of which is a career change.  My plan, if logistics and money work out, is to finish school and get a Masters in Library and Information Science. Meanwhile, I am volunteering at the library, addictively reading books and also keeping up on all things tech, all things bookish and all things e-readers, e-books, etc. =:D
